WLA Market position statement

Welcome to the West London Alliance's first Children's Market Position Statement (MPS). The purpose of the Market Position Statement is to summarise demand, supply, and our commissioning intentions so that we can support our current and potential providers to develop the right services for meeting the needs of our Children and Young Adults. The document is intended to support the local Children's market to plan which services it will need to develop, and how, in order meet the needs of the local population, including those most vulnerable. It sets out the direction of travel for the Children's market (Residential, Semi-Independent, Independent Fostering Agencies and Special Educational Needs - Independent and Non-Maintained Special Schools) enabling voluntary and community organisations and other providers to learn about future opportunities and to develop new activities and services.

In addition, social care providers and organisations not currently operating in the West London and surrounding areas can use this position statement to find opportunities that use their expertise and skills to benefit local community. The Market Position Statement is based on information gained from all the West London Alliance Boroughs, internal placement data, the Borough Area FE review, Boroughs Sufficiency Strategies, information shared at the West London Children's Homes Managers Network, OFSTED inspections, WLA Benefits realisation, Business Plan for 2016/7; and consultation with a number of key stakeholders, including Young People.
